Review: Henry the Hedgegnome 'Loves numbers' by Richard Heddington

Welcome to the first of my very short book reviews! I am starting with a little book by a fellow self published author- Richard Heddington. Richard has written and illustrated a whole series of 'Henry the Hedgegnome' books and they are available on Amazon. Don't tell Hilda but it turns out there is another Hedgehog (or Hedgegnome) on the block!

I have recently been thinking about different ways to teach my little one to count and this charming book will be the perfect accompaniment to the other methods I have been using. I love it's simplicity and the bright colours on each page. The block colours and catchy illustrations have captured and kept the attention of my 19 month old who usually gets very bored, very quickly!

Not only will this book teach your little book lovers about numbers but colours, shapes and importantly VEGETABLES! Surely it can only be a good thing to keep veggies in the forefront of the little salad dodgers minds?

Joking aside, I love how the word count has been kept to a minimum and there are learning opportunities throughout. Henry's stripey socks add a little bit of fun to each page and i'm sure children will love discovering what he's been concocting with all that veg! I am sure this will become a firm favourite in our house and I look forward to checking out the rest of the series.

To get your hands on this lovely little book head to https://www.amazon.co.uk/Henry-Hedgegnome-loves-numbers-Hedgegnomes/dp/0993482775/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?keywords=henry+the+hedgegnome+123&qid=1579728850&s=books&sr=1-1-fkmr0

and there you'll be able to search for the rest of the series. Enjoy!
